AKHA OUTREACH FOUNDATION
Our focus is to glorify God by reaching all the Akha with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit by raising up Akha Christian leaders for the generations to come. Each of the 4 areas of ministry work together toward this end.
House of Joy
Founded in 2001, HOJ is home to 75 underprivileged, high-risk and orphaned Akha children. We provide for their physical, educational and emotional needs while seeking to cultivate within them a love for God and a passion for serving others, especially their own people.
Akha Bible Seminary
Established in 2002, ABS began as a full-time, four-year Bible school in the Akha language. In 2005, we expanded to monthly training for pastors and leaders. Over the years, we have grown to offer 7 different programs, training hundreds of people each year to effect deep cultural transformation.
Our media branch was officially established in 2010 with a mission to equip the Akha church with Biblical media in the Akha language. The total count of our in-house Gospel videos has been viewed over 1 million times and continues to grow.
Akha Outreach Services
Our village church ministry, was recognized as an official church organization under the Evangelical Fellowship of Thailand in 2006. This ministry encompasses every village activity from pastoral training to community development projects. Many Akha Bible Seminary students find ministry placement under this branch.
Letters From Our Kids
Below are excerpts of actual letters from our children to their sponsors. As a sponsor, you will receive personal updates from your child twice a year.
On the school break, I stayed with my grandparents and helped them harvest rice. I haven’t seen my mother for over 3 years. My grandparents take care of me and my brother and two other cousins. I feel sorry for them. They are old and tired and still have to work so hard to take care of four grandchildren…
During the school break I went to the forest with my mom. But I like coming back to Akha Outreach because it’s fun and I miss my friends. Thank you for sponsoring me and taking care of me. I miss you very much. I would like you to pray for my studies that I will pay attention to the teacher…
Akha Bible Seminary
Over half of our students go into full-time ministry, many of them returning to their home villages to serve in churches or become a pastor.
And He said to them, "Go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15
